The sender may choose to limit the timeframe for which a document may be signed. The expiration length, in days or weeks, may be set in two locations.
In the SEND tab under the OPTIONS section, there is a drop-down menu which lets the sender change the length of time the envelope will be available to be signed by the recipient.
In the SETTINGS tab, under GENERAL SETTINGS, you have the option to set the default length of the expiration date and control whether the Expires in setting will be available (Active), not available or viewable (Disable) not be configurable but viewable (View Only) in the Send Tab.
1. Options: Lists the setting Expires in.
2. Display: Controls if Expires in will be available within the Send tab or not.
a. Active: Expires in will be visible in the OPTIONS section on the SEND
b. Disable: Expires in will not be visible in the OPTIONS section on the SEND
c. View only: Expires in will be viewable in the SEND tab but will not be configurable. It appears in the SEND tab for Reference only.
3. Default Value: Lists the default values for Expires in. The default value selected will be displayed in the SEND tab when preparing an envelope for signature.

When the Signer clicks the View & Sign Document button in the email received and the document is past the expiration date, he or she is brought to a new tab on their default web browser with the following text:
