Fillable Field Controls and their respective buttons
To send documents for signing or create templates, RSign users prepare the document by inserting common fillable fields to capture the signer’s information on the document. The fillable field controls are added to the document within the Send tab at Step 2: Prepare.
- The user drags and drops the fillable field control into the document as required.
- After the form field control is added to the document, a pop-up window will appear and provide options for how to set this control.
- Set the fillable field control settings and press the green check box.
Fillable Field Control Buttons
The following fillable field controls may be dragged and dropped into the document to prepare it for signing. Each button represents a different type of fillable field.

Form Field Control Details
Signature

Signature Field
- Drag the Signature box into the document to the location where the signer will need to sign this document.
- Set the available options:
- Signer if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add sign this field.
- Required: Signature is required by default. Uncheck if a signature is not required in this location.
- Press the green check when complete.

Text

- Drag the Text box into the document to the location where the signer is to input text.
- Set the available options:
- Label: Name the text box.
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add text in this field.
- Required:
- Yes: The text box is required.
- No: The text box is optional.
- Text Type:
- Text: Select to allow any text to be added to the field.
- Numeric: Select to allow only numbers to be added to the field.
- Length: The default text field length is set to 10 characters. This may be adjusted by resizing the textbox form field control on the document or changing the number of characters in this field.
- Text Formatting: Set the formatting, font type, text size and/or the color of the text placed in this field.
- Press the green check when complete.

- Drag the Name control into the document to the location where the signer will be asked to add his or her name.
- Set the available options:
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add his or her name in this field.
- Required:
- Yes: The Name box is required.
- No: The Name box is optional.
- Text Formatting: Set the formatting, font type, text size and/or the color of the text placed in this field.
- Press the green check when complete.

- Set the available options:

- Set the available options:

- Required: Check the Required box if this is a mandatory field.

Checkbox

- Drag the Checkbox control into the document in the location where the signer may need to /will be required to check a box.
- Set the available options:
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer to this field.
- Required: Check the Required box if this is a mandatory field.
- Press the green check when complete.
Note: The grey border on the outside of the checkbox will not be visible to the signer(s).

- Drag the Initials control into the document to the location where the signer is to place his or her initials.
- Set the available options:
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add text in this field.
- Required:
- Yes: The text box is required.
- No: The text box is optional.
- Text Formatting: Set the formatting, font type, text size and/or the color of the text placed in this field.
- Press the green check when complete.

Label

Label Field
- Drag the Label control into the document to the location where the label, for informational purposes, is placed. The label is visible to all parties and not editable.
- Set the available options:
- Label: Enter the Label text in the field. This text will be printed on the document and visible to all signers.
- Text Formatting: Set the formatting, font type, text size and/or the color of the text placed in this field.
- Press the green check when complete.

Radio Button

Radio Button Field
- Drag the Radio Button control into the document to the location where the signer is to select one option from a group. Any number of radio buttons may be assigned to a group. Multiple groups may be added to a single document.
- Set the available options:
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add text in this field.
- Group Name: This field assigns the radio button to a specific group of other radio buttons. For example, the group could be named “group 1” or “Animal” and all radio buttons with those names will be grouped together. When selecting the signer will have an option to pick only one radio button within the group.
- Radio Name: This option allows you to name the specific radio button. Radio
- Buttons are named “Radio” by default.
- Example:
- Group Name: Marital Status
- Radio button 1: Single
- Radio button 2: Married
- Radio button 3: Separated
- Radio button 4: Divorced
- Radio button 5: Widowed
- Required (Group): Check this box to require the assigned recipient select an option from this group.
- Pre-selected: Check causes this Radio Button control to be preselected as a default within the group.
- Press the green check when complete.
Note, the grey border on the outside of the radio button will not be visible to the signer(s).

Dropdown

Dropdown
- Drag the Dropdown control into the document in the location where the signer is to select one option from a dropdown menu.
- Set the available options:
- Example dropdown options:
- United States
- Canada
- United Kingdom
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add text in this field.
- Required: Check the Required to make this a mandatory field.
- First Line Blank: Check to make the first line of the dropdown menu blank and provide no default answer. If unchecked the first answer in the dropdown will appear by default.
- Options: Add the dropdown options into this field in the desired order and press the green [+] button. The red trash can icon deletes the item.
- Press the green check when complete.

Date & Time Stamp

- Drag the Date & Time Stamp control into the document in the location where the system is to auto-populate the date & time the document was executed.
- Set the available options:
- Signer: if the document is set to be sent to more than one recipient, assign the signer who will need to add text in this field.
- Text Formatting: Set the formatting, font type, text size and/or the color of the text placed in this field.
- Press the green check when complete.
Note: This field is not visible to the signer when they open the document for signing. The RSign system auto-populates the Date & Time information of when the signer(s) complete the signing process.
